Frequently Asked Questions

1.How long does the credit repair process take?

Policies and procedures vary by creditor but will usually include back-and-forth letters to get

everything in writing. On average, credit repair takes about three to six months. Your score

should gradually improve throughout the process each time a creditor agrees to make a change in

your favor.

2. Is credit repair legal?

Credit repair is legal. As a consumer, you have the right to have an accurate credit report. Filing

disputes to remove negative claims is perfectly legal and necessary to ensure that any erroneous

remarks are removed.

A lot of your rights when it comes to your credit are thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting

Act (FCRA). It’s a good idea to brush up on what your rights are, especially if you’re wanting to

repair your credit.

3. Does credit repair work?

Whether you decide to repair your credit yourself or decide to work with a credit repair

company, there is no doubt that the credit repair process works.

By working directly with the credit bureaus, debt collectors, or original creditors, you can rest

assured that your efforts to remove negative listings from your credit report will not be in vain.

Oftentimes, debt collectors are willing to work with consumers to find a solution that works best

for both parties.

Through cooperation with the creditors, as well as your decisive action to pay off high-interest

rate debt, your goal to repair your credit can be actualized within a relatively short period. All

you need is the discipline to make it happen.

4. What is expected from the client?

For our clients, all we typically ask for is education, communication, and most importantly

patience. When we submit disputes and challenges on your behalf, the bureaus and creditors will

always respond directly back to you! For the purpose of your own privacy, creditors will never

send the results of their investigations to us. Therefore, it is extremely important to maintain

consistent communication with us so we can continue our work. When you receive a

correspondence back, email that correspondence to us as soon as possible.

5. What should I expect during a credit consultation?

During a credit consultation, you can expect a review of your credit report, identification of

errors or inaccuracies, and personalized advice and guidance on credit management and financial

literacy.

6. Can credit repair companies remove accurate information from my credit report?

No, credit repair companies cannot remove accurate information from your credit report.

However, they can work to identify and correct errors or inaccuracies that may be affecting your

credit score.
